The VXR is more like a heavy duplex reticle with a dot and the vx3hd reticle is a little bit different and not as thick as the VXR reticle Both have similar glass IMHO.

I've seen where VX-R glass has 94% light transmission . That's pretty strong. My little 2-7 X 33 is mighty , mighty clear. The VXR duplex / firedot is what I describe as a light heavy with the red dot. If there's a better woods reticle out there I haven't seen it.

They’re pretty liberal with their qualification, most folks I know qualify or have an immediate family member/good friend that would be willing to purchase for them. I’ve never paid full price for a leupold! Discount is 28% off full retail.
