I like the western guns and all of the nostalgia that comes with them. However, it’s 2025 and the rules of engagement have changed. Fentanyl ferrets, meth heads and gang bangers don’t carry 6-shooters. If I have to protect me and mine it will be with a high capacity semi auto. This is just my opinion based on the fact that, other than my hunting firearms, all others are purchased with one purpose in mind, self preservation.

No , why I have 3 ARs and shot guns for that . Plus ammo is cheaper . Lol

Or to be completely classy, a S&W 57/657 in .41 Magnum and a Henry lever action carbine to match.

Ive got a Henry 44 Mag and a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in 44 Mag.

But maybe the ultimate Rifle/Pistl combo would be a BLR in 243/TC Contender in 243.

If I owned guns….

I've got a purty Pre-lock 57 6" barrel. Probably had 5 years and still haven't shot it 😒

SP 101, GP 100, or a Python, if you can find one for less than the cost of your truck!

I got a super Blackhawk hunter in 44. The stainless 1894 I have held but I spent to much money on tractors and equipment last year to swing it. Yet lol

Looking at some of these wheel guns and they pack a punch but they'll put a hurting on your hip pocket too.

Ruger GP 100 and a Henry in 357 mag would be my first choice. But since I already have a New Model Blackhawk 44 mag, a lever action 44 mag will probably be my next pick.

May know a guy that has an 1894 in .357 along with a ruger blackhawk in .357. May know another guy with a model 84 in 44mag along with another ruger vaquero in 44 mag.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Love my Python! Practically stole it at $600. My Dad gave me an SP 101, nice shooter, but it ain't a Python!

I love my 1894 in 44Mag and the S&W model 29. They are a bit heavy but I'm ready for anything that may show up in the woods..

Marlin model 45 loaded with .460 rowland level 45 super handloads (would probably need some spring experimentation to get it 100 percent reliable). I have a pocket gun based on a BBR 3.10 in the chute. Gundoc put together a full sized custom .45 super based on a sar K2 for me last year. Built like a bank vault, holds 15 rounds, can be emptied in a couple seconds on target, doesn't kick any more than a .22 mag and throws empties 6 feet away in a neat pile.

150 grain solid copper projectiles running 2000 fps out of the full sized have almost no recoil. They make brains fly out of the nose and/or ears of every headshot hog and body shots make them grunt, sit down, wobble around a bit and then fall over DRT.

71.5 ounces or 4.5 lbs empty. Need a chest rig for that one.
