I’ve got around 20 hens 4 jakes and 6-8 gobblers. Too bad they won’t be around for turkey season.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Y’all better knock on wood. The only way to keep them around is to have good nesting habitat close by for the hens. They’re gonna be where the hens want to be starting in a month or so

You are spot on. I hate these danged pasture buzzards. Until 2 years ago, I had never seen a turkey on my place. I've got about 3 groups of them that have 15-20 in each group, on my place now. They eat up all the corn from the spin feeders. They will be standing under it every day waiting on it to go off. They ignore the "This corn is for deer only!" signs I've got in place. If I knew of a legal, ethical way to get them to leave, I'd already would have utilized it. I really don't think Alabama has a shortage of them anymore.

And it’s all due to 3 years of good hatches. Everyone I know has a ton on f turkeys
That dominant gobbler fairy tale has nothing to do with this Or did moving the season back work that quickly! Maybe dominant gobbler theory has allowed for better hatches. Could just be a coincidence I guess.

Could just be a coincidence I guess. The turkeys in neighboring Mississippi have made a recent boom just like Bama's. Even though "we are killing them before they breed" and "disrupting the breeding process" with our March 15 opener. Hmmm.

He won’t tolerate common sense. Best advice - avoid reading his posts in the turkey forum.
