If you have FB and don't see the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division page you should check it out. Nice seeing public land bucks

Can't be right. We no longer have deer thanks to cell cams and feeders.

I hear that here as well. Whats funny, is I run a lot of cameras and the ONLY time I go to an area because of a pic is if a mountain lion pic comes through.
I just like cams and I will hunt a whitetail because of a photo but, I'd hunt the same spots without those pics.

*public land = no feeders

SOH = limited pressure

You're only as good as your worst shot-

I like seeing the deer that come off of the cattle ranch.

There are some peak times, but I actually feel like there's less pressure on the public land I hunt.

Saw two pics of two fine bucks yesterday, one was piebald and cool as heck.

Last club I was in down there was pressured pretty much daily. The club prez and board members thought they could do as they pleased, sign in early, and especially making excuses for killing deer that didn't meet the minimum 6pt requirement. Pissed me off so bad I killed a forky one day, quartered it up into my packs in the woods and sat around BSing them at the checkout board about the 'yote I missed while they hovered around my dead deer unknowingly lol. I only went back to collect my cams and stands.

Don’t know how many times it needs to be said. We have to maintain Davy Crockett status for hunters who kill public land deer, apparently. But there’s no comparison to the hunting pressure most normal hunting clubs maintain during the season. And highly fragmented, heavily human populated rural areas, with backyard feeders and night lights - the “pressure” on those deer can’t be measured, off the charts.

Agree 100%.......it's always good to see big ones getting killed, I always hope I am the one doing the killing, if not, I am happy to see other hunters with their hands on them.........
