Anybody have this procedure done. What were the results, good, bad or no difference?

I had it done
Mine was a two part injection.
First one was not comfortable but as soon as the second one was done I almost immediately felt relief. I've had very few problems since.

I do one about every 3 months. They usually do pretty good for me. Way better than taking opioids every day. Side effects are mild. You will feel hot and flushed for a few days after because of the steroids. Thats about it. Worth the relief to me. I use Dr. Beretta in Pelham. Quick in and out procedure with light sedation.

Mine was several years ago.
I did PT for a few weeks and tried holistic methods like stretching, decompression, rest etc. Nothing was working so I went to see about the injection and wish I had done it to start with.

I had an epidural (lower back L4 L5) and wasn't impressed with results. If you are having that much pain, go ahead and find a good surgeon. Had back surgery over a year ago and it's worked. Wish I had done it sooner.

They work for me although the last one I had didn't and they had to go up a step on the medication and it did work thankfully. Most places offer sedation and you will need a driver to be released. I do it without so I can drive my own self home. They numb the area and it's not bad. The IV stuck in my arm (for sedation) is worse than the epidural IMO.

I had two in 2017. The first one did nothing to help. The second one caused urinary and man part issues that lasted nearly a full year. I’ll never have another one. I had them at L3, L4 and L5.

I have had a bunch for various joints and worked well except for my last back one. And that’s because my stoopid self did not follow directions and did to much the three days after.

Microdiscectomy & Laminectomy in November of 2023. I was hesitant about getting this done but I have been pleased. Losing 40lbs could help even more if I can find the motivation. I'm not saying surgery is right for everyone but for me it was long overdue. I still have some nerve pain in my leg that is sporadic, but nothing like pre surgery.

Wife had many of them in her neck . She had two spinal fusions an in pain daily. The injections do work for a time but not a fix . Every so often she has spinal burn where he burns the nerves between her vertebrae. Them work better than steroid injections I think ur talking about . Both are hard on her. sometimes I have drive her home because of sedation.

Just had it done in Nov.. Initially, my back was improved from the shots but that didn't last long. Was hunting with a medical professional (nurse anesthetist) last week and he said that is not unusual that it often takes a series of shots to have lasting relief. This was in Huntsville that I had it done and it was not a problem with anything. I was completely asleep from the same drug they use for a colonoscopy. Had some injections years ago in Prattville and felt like they were running us through there like worming day for cattle. First time I was partially sedated with Versed and the second time there was no sedation. Mild pain but not too bad but I much prefer to be sedated so I don't jump when they hit the nerve since they are playing with my back.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Had several. Most were great. On doc however missed the spot. When I told him he denied it. I passed out. Couldn't move my legs. Staff got pissed. Thought I was lying. Took me 4 hours to walk. With help. I canceled the payment check. When they threatened to sue me for payment I begged them to.

LUCK:::; When presistence, dedication, perspiration and preparation meet up with opportunity!!!

I’ve had a bizillion steroid injections. Only thing that ever helped me was surgery.

Find a good surgeon. He will conservatively treat with injections. Surgery will be suggested when the injections no longer work. Don’t trust a surgeon that wants to cut immediately unless you have ignored the pain for so long you have symptoms other than pain.

I've had a couple of dozen and there's no sure fire way to know how well, how long they will last , or to what degree they work. I do know that that some Dr.'s are better at getting the right combination of drugs in the right place. I use to have sedation but it simply wastes the whole day and the IV sticks are hell because I have veins that they can't find or try to hit several attempts. Just do the local and it's faster and you can have a pretty normal day afterwards. I waiting to get my next one in a couple of weeks. I still work in a factory job and on the farm. I know I won't be able to continue that if I have a fusion surgery, so epidurals are my best bet. I've been able to not have that surgery for around 20 years.
