Bergara announced they were doing some rifles in a 7mm Backcountry (in 2025) and I think I'm going to get me one just for giggles. If it dies I can always have the rifle rechambered. So, there's a lot of 2025 left and I was wondering if anyone heard a timeline when Bergara will release it? I'm hoping it will be with a 16 or 18 inch barrel.

I didn't like any of the other 7mm Backcountry offerings with the exception of the Horizon Venatic but I'm not about to tie up $4000 on a rifle and then have to put an optic on it too.

Seekins, fierce, and Christensen offer 7 back country, which won’t be far off from what that begara model is gonna cost.
I think the shortest barrel I’ve seen so far on a back country is 16” on a CA Ridgeline model. I wouldn’t jump to be one of the first to try it, but I’d be curious to see how it groups and chrono when you get it.

I’ve got a Christiansen 6.5 CM. It’s a fine gun but I’m looking for something with a deeper grip stock with a flat forestock. I probably should have mentioned that in the beginning. That’s why I’ve narrowed it down to the Bergara.

Weatherby has some real interesting rifles in 7 BC also, the 307 alpine ct is especially tempting.

I'm betting there's going to be disappointed people when they run their new 7mm whizbang over a chronograph...
