So Saturday evening I get a call from a hunter who needed a track. He thought he hit a buck but could not find any hair or blood, they searched the area hard but no luck. I had to go an buy a dryer that night when he called cause ours went out. He wanted to go in the morning of Sunday. I said no problem, we get there and I turn Heidi out and she hits OK absolutely nothing. Runs into the woods and turns around and looks at me like, are we just walking around? Well we confirm a miss and I'm standing there talking with the hunter about future hunts if they ever think it's a bad shot to go ahead and call me. Talked about deers reactions to certain kinds of shots and I see his brain start ticking. He said you got a few more minutes? I said yeah why, he said I shot at one Friday morning and he was like 30 yards and I guess I just missed him, he jumped straight up into the air and walked off not even limping or acting shot watched him for 100 or so yards just walk. He thought he shot right under him. We get to the field he shot at him in Friday morning and he said I waited about an 1hr or so to get up, step into this lane and he's standing down there about 200 yards looking at me, I said you got shot him. When you got up so did he, he said well I guess it can't be tracked. I chuckled a little cause I knew if he didn't push him the deer would probably be bedded up 300 yards or so. Well I turn Heidi out again and we are pushing about 51hr for the shot time of Friday morning. She walked to the road he saw him standing on and she ran down and head snapped on a dime and dove off into the thicket, I glanced at her on the Garmin and saw she was 200 yards and not moving. I didn't say a word just eased along headed towards her, I get within a few yard or so of her on the Garmin and see a ditch/creek and rack sticking up with Heidi gnawing on a hind end. I said hey man come check this out, his response, no freaking way that dog did that lol. Right at 51hr old and she actually tracked Jim instead of winding cause the wind was at our backs. Great buck too his hit list buck he's been after all year he thought was gone.

It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.
