If they need it financed let them do it through a bank, get the cash and bring it to you. Self financing would be a headache to you. If the bank won't lend them money that ought to tell you what you need to know about what would happen if you depended on them to pay you like they should.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Cash, also have a bill of sale, 2 copies you both sign then each gets one and the title. Buyer may want to meet at bank if they are paying/carrying cash.

And even taking cash, I would meet them at their bank and let them withdraw it and give it to you. I know of folks having fake bills passed off during a cash sale.

I've taken cash, cashier's checks and personal check if I know them . If they are financing , meet up at the buyer's bank.

Cash and get a counterfeit pen. Put it in a money bag in the safe...

I had a guy give me a fake certified check once for a car I sold. Dumbass damn near got himself killed and me in jail. That would scare me more than a few fake bills. I'd check and double check a certified check from someone I didn't know if it wasn't from a local bank. Someone from Scottsboro, a few years ago, sold a race car to someone up North , got a bad certified check. No way to recover , lost a bunch of $.

Meet them at their bank.
1. Get a cashier's check from the bank. 2. Have the bank notarize a copy of the bill of sale, and ask them to copy one (he/she gets the original (for registration and tax purposes), you get the copy). 3. Remove tag 4. Sign title
That's the best/safest way to transfer ownership.
