Small aircraft collisions are not uncommon. It's making news now because of the rash of other large aircraft crashes lately.

Seen it happen a few times. Heard two guys on the radio at Craig Field and they were landing at the same time from opposite directions. They figured it out in time but the guy in a Cirrus was raising hell about it.
