Anyone running a .22 pistol suppressed? What make and model? Feed issues with subsonic rounds?

Both the Browning Buckmark and the Ruger Mark 4 are accurate, and run well with subsonic ammo. I prefer the Buckmark, as it is easy to change barrels and easier to clean than some of the Ruger models.

Sig mosquito, GSG 1911 and ruger 22/45 all run fine with most any ammo. Federal auto match ammo is the only bulk stuff that stays subsonic in all of them. I cut the barrel back to 3.5” on the 22/45 and it keeps everything subsonic.

I have an sr22 that I put a aac element on. Haven’t had any issues with it and I’ve shot quite a few rounds with it the past 12 or so years.

I’ve got a Smith and Wesson M&P 22 compact and a Walther P22. Both do great with my SiCo Warlock. I would love to pick up a Mark IV eventually though.

You must have the best Sig Mosquito ever built, then. I have handled/shot 4 or 5 of them and they were all jam-O-matics. If I'm in a pawn shop tomorrow and see one for $50, I would pass. I bought one as a gift for my niece. We never found ammo that would function correctly. Before I got irritated and sold it, I tried every .22 round I could get. Literally, try to run 1 magazine, change springs, try again.

Clean, lube, try another brand. Same result.

Interesting, I wonder if quality went downhill? I bought mine many years back when I was working at Larry’s part time and it was one of the very first ones made. I shot it so much, I literally wore it out! It ran like a sewing machine! The slide cracked after around 8500 rounds, sig replaced it for me and I put another couple thousand rounds through it before I sold it and decided I needed a ruger to put up with the ridiculous amount I was shooting.

Make sure you buy clean burning ammo. Good ammo will help you tremendously in this area. Are you going to run regular sights or use a dot?

How small do you want it, Walther -- ppks or the 4" ppq?

There is no such thing as clean .22 rimfire ammo. There is really dirty, dirty and less dirty.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

I’ve had my Warlock for about 10 years now and haven’t cleaned it after who knows how many thousands of rounds of CCI Standard Velocity 22LR still works flawlessly

Probably not going to run a dot. Going to mostly use for plinking and in the boat.

one thing to keep in mind, while most of the modern 22 pistols are or can be made to reliably function with a wide variety of ammo, all of the guns with pot metal/zamak slides (basically all of the pistols that look like "real" auto handguns) are likely develop cracked slides if they're shot a lot (4-5K+ rounds) for many people that's a non-issue, but worth considering. I don't know how to prove it, but I suspect the extra backpressure from using a suppressor may accelerate the slide battering that leads to cracking. I say this owninas an owner of a few of the Zamak slide guns, I just know their shortcomings and have enough of them to spread the shooting out and don't expect them to be "heirloom" guns that will be passed down for generations.

You can go a long time on the modern cans using CTA baffles or clamshell sleeves that allow disassembly even with heavy buildup. Back when I bought mine we didnt have the same availability and most were K baffle without a clamshell and if you go too long the lead and carbon that builds up on the wall make it nearly impossible to disassemble. I let it got to 4-5K once and ended up crushing a baffle when I took it apart. I try to clean mine every 1-2K now and it's much more civilized. I really need to get a modern one so i don't have to worry about it.

I’m sure mine would benefit from a good cleaning. Probably going to get one of the breakthrough suppressor cleaning dip kits and drop it in soon. If I ever get another 22 can though I’m gonna fork up the extra and get something with titanium baffles so I can put it in my ultrasonic cleaner. My warlock has aluminum cup baffles and I don’t think it would fare well in there.
