Any corporation that wants to cut spending will usually start with their largest budget item, which is generally salary and benefits. I have been on the receiving end of those cuts several times. Ain’t fun, but hopefully you’ve worked hard enough to make yourself valuable that you can go to the competition across the street for a raise.

So, would all of these people being cut from their gov't jobs, just prefer a 50% to 75% pay cut instead?
I understand it is very chaotic right now, but to stem the financial bleeding maybe it is best to put the tourniquet on tight and then start the suturing instead of trying to suture while blood continues to spurt out.
All the change I thought most of us in here wanted (and to have long term effect) has to be done before mid-terms!
With that in mind, will taking the time to do all the studies (which cost additional money) truly be in the best interest of achieving the goal by that time? Keep in mind that ALL those folks will still be being paid while the cuts are being studied.
Another thing, are all these people being fired eligible for unemployment benefits? If so, I don't know that mass firings is really going to accomplish the intent as those funds are also coming from gov't.

I just hope Trump keeps making the hard decisions that the base doesn't have the stomach for. You can't continue with this bloated monstrosity of a government and he is on limited time. I'd much prefer he go too far with the cuts that not far enough. The piper has to be paid at some point and there will probably be some corrections in our economy but I believe it would be temporary. If he continues on his current path I think we come out of this 4 years with a fiscally responsible government for the first time in my life.

A lot of these jobs will be rehired. He’s using a chainsaw when he should’ve used a scalpel And will likely be paid backpay, the country will be a better place. Except for the puddles of tears from people crying about the best president weve ever seen doing exactly what they voted for him to do.

I don't recall this same out-cry when biden put thousands of oil / gas field workers out of a job on his first day. Seems more like an echochamber of the mainstream media You missed me explaining how the private company I was working for had to cut half of its staff due to Keystone and other pipelines getting shut down.

Let’s start with shutting down every new agency and department created in the last 4 yrs and with firing all of the 325,00-375,000 federal employees that were hired during the Biden administration and take total government employment numbers back to where it was when Trump left office. Once that is done, then we can decide who else and what other agencies need to go too. How bout get rid of the the people that have been eligible for retirement for 10 years and just show up to get a paycheck because they can. National forest of Alabama fired 6 people in Alabama, 3 that I knew really well, a timber marker and 2 recreation technicians that did every thing from clean chitters to haul equipment across the country for $13.50 an hour. There’s multiple jobs that they could just fire one of and still pay the 3 I’m talking about . I’m all for cuts but he should have had a filter to separate good from the bad. All the termination letters say the reason for firing is for poor performance which is far from the truth about the guys I know that got cut. All voted for trump to.

How bout get rid of the the people that have been eligible for retirement for 10 years and just show up to get a paycheck because they can. . The acronym for those people, and I worked with some myself, is RODs (retired on duty). It would be wonderful if there was a more efficient way to do this, but I’m not sure there is and I say that knowing that there is a possibility that one day it may work it’s way to my little part time job a FEMA site and I can be DOGEd (I wonder if that will make Webster list of new verbs next year?). The fact is that change hurts but our country can’t keep going without some drastic changes happening. Our so called leaders have just kicked the can down the road for too long now and it is time to pay the piper. Give me a minute and I’ll think of some more cliches that fit.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Man, I simply don't care. Burn it down. All of it. Join the private sector. Learn to survive here, with the rest of America. You'll be better for it.
For the record, I'm retired fire service and the fire unions have long supported democrats. Reap what you sow. Screw em.

Saving $2 TRILLION/ yr simply is going to be messy. He has under 4 years. The clock is ticking.
Debt is what sinks empires. And that is not an exaggeration. Agreed. And more to the point, Trump has about 100 days. If he doesn't make hay early, he loses momentum and the disgusting thing is momentum is a function of the public. The RINOS are pretending to be in line for fear of losing the midterms but if the polls shift, their true colors will fly. The PEOPLE want results and gratification in the form of reduced taxes and convictions of criminals. If we don't see that and soon, momentum swings with the middle and it goes left again. Remember, there are not enough "minority" voters to elect a President without swinging "majority" votes.
O God, you are my God; early will I seek you. Psalm 63:1
