If Doge can lower the deficit and add dollars to social security COLA's the Republicans would never lose another presidential election.

I don't believe that it's money saved. Killing jobs without any fore thought isn't really savings... I'm sure a high percentage of those jobs "may be" legit but, to see some that were cut makes it a numbers game imo.
Respectfully, you're wrong. I'm pretty certain someone close to you, if not you, is on the chopping block from the goverment teat. I don't wish harm on anyone, but the cuts needed to happen decades ago. Long overdue and it needs to happen to the extreme.

I know dozens if not hundreds who are going to get whacked. I only feel bad for two of them.

They as much as admit it when there’s a snowstorm in DC and they announce for only essential employees to report to work. If they’re not essential why were they hired ed in the first place? Because soft ass American's think their government should keep everyone happy and employed. It used to only be democrats but these days even some Republicans feel entitled. I just hope Trump stays committed to doing the right thing even though his base doesn't have the stomach for the pain that's inevitable if we are to right the ship.

I know absolutely No-ONE that has lost a job or nor have been threatened to get fired. BTW, I'm retired so that rules me out as well lol. Cutting VA employees in an entity with a known shortage of staff and cutting NFS jobs when those cuts included bios/fire trail team leads, and other unreported jobs etc, is just dumb. It's common sense to do the study's on a RIF that have been mentioned on the other threads. IMO, the American public should have been provided the studies (research) which "should" include positions eliminated, salary, AND whether or not the position was critical. We get NOTHING and you guys just roll with it lol. I despise the libs but I know for fact, this page would have come unhinged had a democrat made these moves, especially while keeping it in house and us in the dark. Your post is opinion, doesn't make it right , same as mine but I try to be factual...

You keep saying that but the people actually doing it says there is forethought. The people actually doing it are telling a different story than you are telling. Ive listened to them talk about it and i would recommend you do the same. Both of you cannot be telling the truth. Seeing as how they are the people doing the things youre talking about, i assume they know more about it than you do. And i understand you may know someone who lost their job. I doubt the president knows them or called them to explain exactly why the decision was made. Nevertheless, i assume youd like to be on the side of the truth so i recommend you listen to what the people have to say that you are accusing. Its pretty easy to find.

Post some links to that info... BTW, I never said I know people losing there jobs, I said I know of jobs lost that are not jobs we want as "seasonal" nor were they probationary jobs....

There is zero forethought. There was a giant sawed off shotgun blast taking out everone good and bad. Now with hindsight without any prejudice the absolute next person that should be fired and ran out on a rail is the writer of the reason for firing being poor job performance. Objectively any single human being in that command who participated in such a shameful cowardice lying act should be fired too. We are America and are better. Period! You watch MSNBC regularly? Just wondering.

I think this is a situation of the gov't being so bloated and so many people not doing what they should have been doing all along has culminated in this chaotic shrinking of spending.
If all these supervisors had been doing their jobs correctly, then a simple memo to reduce the workforce and work with in X budget should have been sufficient and it would have started at the bottom and climbed up the ladder.
All of you who are opposed to how this is being done, is your proposed method one that could be done within the same time frame?
It does suck that some people are losing jobs, but folks in the private sector have been losing jobs for ages and there has not been the hew and cry about those.
I agree that the VA needs better efficiency and more people in certain areas within it and hopefully when all the dust settles, that will be what has happened.
