I remember the feeling of watching these old shows when I was a kid. It was like you were going on vacation or a trip, it was that exciting to me. The bill dance show might be the only decent kid show on tv on a Saturday or Sunday. There wasn’t 1000 channels with shows every hour like now. Let’s just say it was a big deal. Roland and Al were legends too.

I guess it was the closest thing to modern day tv series that people can’t live without (like Yellowstone).
It brings back great memories. I’d wait all week for it.

The Bear Bryant show, baseball game of thee week with scully and Gowdy, Wide World of Sports (the agony of defeat). Yeah, Bill and Roland, angry at the Tv for them throwing fish back, fish goes in pot to eat, not back in the water.

I remember many Sunday afternoons jumping on my bicycle with my rod and reel and fishing at the lake down just down the road right after watching The Bill Dance show....And also great memories of riding to the Commissary and the PX out on the Old Ft. McClellan on Saturdays with my Mom, and spending a many allowances at the PX on fishing stuff.... smile Man, Life sure was a lot simpler back then.....Thanks globe, that's a great memory for me.... thumbup thumbup

I watched Bill Dance every Saturday. I loved that one day he’d be catching big bass, then crappie fishing, beetle spinning for big bluegill, cricket fishing, catfishing, etc. Good memories for sure.

Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, Will Primos. Watched those The Truth about turkey hunting tapes until they slap wore out.

If you guys ever met Roland Martin in person you world rescind that hero status thing. The guy is a complete tool.

Waiting on new hunting magazines to come out every month. I got caught stealing an Outdoor life when I was about 10 and the manager of the store gave me a talking to with mom present.

I'd watch Bill Dance and then run out the door to go fishing Cane Creek or me and a buddy had a few spots on the local golf course that we'd work over.
Get back in time for supper and watch a little Georgia Championship Rasslin and then catch Marty Stoufer before I had to start getting ready for school the next day.
I always looked forward to that Outdoor Life and reading the latest Pat McManus piece.

That was good living back in the day.
