Will be seated outside. Wtf

Decided to take the wife to this fancy restaurant last night here in SC. I’m reading there website. Place is nice and expensive. What the hell I will get off my wallet and have a good time. Wife works 80 hours a week. Now my son is only nine. Piss on that. If my boy cannot have dinner with me and mom you can kiss my money goodbye.

I hear ya but I’m ok with it. Sometimes I just want a white tablecloth dinner with my wife and no kids under driving age within sight or earshot. Especially in Charleston (that’s our go-to place in SC). Hope y’all found another good place and had a great night!

Can you sit outside with them?

Not related but,

This time of year there are a lot of folks hitting fancy restaurants that don't know how to act. I have an employee that spent last weekend in Huntsville and went to Connors? I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall. They stayed at the Westin Element, then hit Dave and Busters and dropped $2k playing games. Then on to the mall to drop another couple grand.

Of course he didn't have money for lunch on Monday when he got back to work.

TAX REFUNDS BABY!!

When my kids were young they were taught early on how to act in restaurants. Neither I nor my wife would tolerate outbursts, crying, etc. If crying started, which I know it is inevitable sometimes with small children, one of us would take them outside or away from other diners. The last thing my kids wanted to hear from my wife was "Come on, we're going to the bathroom". That meant she was going to tear that butt up as she wouldn't spank one of them in public. We just thought that the courteous thing to do was to take them away so they wouldn't disrupt others.

Sadly, not all parents felt the way we did. They ignored their screaming kids much to the dismay of other diners.

At some point I realized that restaurants were seating all the families with young kids in the same areas. I understood why they did this but I really despised it. There was nothing harder than trying to teach your children good behavior in a restaurant when bad behavior by other kids all around us was ignored by the parents.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

X2 Doc...I dont see any reason to be upset or mad at any restaurant that wants to run their business that way....Why would anyone want to get dressed in their Sunday best (or Jacks clothes laugh ) and spend possibly hundreds of dollars on a nice, intimate meal, alone, with your beautiful wife, without the possibility of having to see, and or hear a bunch of other people's spoiled ass rotton kids acting a damn fool while your trying to eat and have a nice time...At least the restaurant put that info out there, and you knew before hand, so that it leaves the choice up to you, whether you wanna go there, or not.....I dont see a problem here...They, obviously could give a crap about getting "your money".... smirk

Did you know that Beer Nutz are over a Dollar...and Deer Nutz are under a Buck...

Ive been to a few weddings where no kids were allowed. I’m good with it. My son was never an issue in public, but other people are oblivious to their little brats.

Well when they are newborns they don’t understand. And should not be in fine dining. Once they are old enough to understand they could be. But not everyone is the same. I never took my kids to a fine dining restaurant when they didn’t understand. But once they were able to understand 4 or 5 years old tops they could go anywhere. I explained it once and don’t remember ever having to re-explain to them not to disturb ppl. I do know the ones that do. I saw it today but it wasn’t fine dining by any means so I am responsible for going there. I could never fathom letting a child run around in a restaurant much less having a 10 year old sibling try to calm them down instead of a parent.

Iffen it was my restaurant I'd be way more concerned about the 13-19 crowd causing a disturbance. Either way, I'd have found another place to dine. Sounds like they could be opening themselves up for a child discrimination lawsuit.

This was us. You wouldn’t even know we had kids at the table. We taught them how to act as soon as we could. Very young age. My wife was stay at home Mom so we did have an advantage! She worked her arse off raising kids and it shows.

My kids go to both fancy and some not so fancy restaurants with my wife and I all the time. My children have been taught to behave! That being said, if my kids are not welcome, I am not going.

This is the key to it. The the kid is taught how to behave in public no problem. But if they are going to act like little Helluns I don’t want to be around them. And the same goes for family functions

Yes and yes - but, many parents don’t hold their children accountable for their behavior.
