thats is stupid as hell.. but i do say it would be nice not having to worry about oil, belts, or gas... this is all dependent on how long the batts would hold up and if there was a free replacement for bad batteries within say 10 years.. but in the end it should be my choice what i buy to maintain my lawn

Part of the reason why Californians are moving east. There is more to it though.

I cut grass for a living. Someone gave me an electric push mower that I tried using in small, tight areas where I couldn't get inside some gates. It ran for about 40 minutes before it needed a charge and couldn't handle mowing anything over ankle-high. It took 5 hours to charge both it's batteries.

I'm sure it isn't a now or never timeline, but imagine if you had to dump your entire landscaping service machinery (at a loss, unless you do some leg work) and re-up your entire working inventory to electric. Fast battery chargers ain't cheap and neither are the batteries, yet.

Fast battery chargers ain't cheap and neither are the batteries, yet. There’s no way I’d switch. I don’t trust those batteries. I know one guy in town who lost his whole trailer to a damaged lithium battery on a blower. Burned up $18K of enclosed trailer, mowers and other equipment.

Saw a Stihl zero turn, yesterday, and looked up their Lithium Ion powered model (24Kwh w/possible 8hr run time)....$23k is the cheapest and $28k is the most expensive of the 3 options. The 32hp ICE model was $17k. I haven't looked too hard, but looks like they are rebranded Ferris mowers, but may've just "adopted" their suspension set-up.
