I don't mean this in a derogatory way, but people who are heavily involved in charity work often lean Democrat with their politics. We saw it a lot on the Ukraine situation last week after the blowup at the WH. I don't know why? Conservatives are consistently more charitable with their money than Liberals. Plenty of data out there that proves this.
