That the Hanceville AL police department has been disbanded. This man should OWN every person involved in the treatment put upon him..... https://youtu.be/9_umqYU0YK4

That was tough to listen to. If half of that is true, that’s an egregious miscarriage of justice. Doesn’t matter where you are, the police are not your friends. Treat them with respect but know they are usually not on your team. Of course, I'm going to take exception to that.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I know some really great officers and I know some that shouldn’t have a badge. Like every other profession, some good and some bad, you shouldn’t paint them all with the same broad brush.

My uncle went to school and played football with that man. I have family in Hanceville. When we go visit if the speed limit is 30 then do 25.

Hearing anything on police or clergy is very hard, we used to hold them in esteem, much like truckers and teachers, however, too many undesirables and infiltrating all ranks.

I was telling my wife just a couple of days ago. Imagine the shake down they put on the kids at Wallace and the Mexicans they caught with anything It seems to be a trend across many small towns in this state. Large monied businesses take careful notes about these kinds of things when choosing locations. Hanceville will not see any significant growth for a long time because of this incident.

Treat them with respect but know they are usually not on your team. Of course, I'm going to take exception to that. I saw a video of him at o e of the meetings. It may have been the same one, I didn't watch but a couple of seconds from this link. I was convinced of the same as everyone above. I was told by a couple of good sources that he did indeed beat on his wife and special needs daughter and that he is a pathological liar with other issues. I am not stating either side as fact, just that he had me convinced until other sources were talked to. With that said, several of the officers obviously have major issues as did the former mayor. People are rash and interject biases quickly instead of waiting on actual facts to come out. There’s usually at least 2 sides to every story told.

Shouldn’t a police call involve a “quick check” of someone’s record? Is that not doable? If a man is 70 and never been in ANY trouble then certainly he deserves some leeway, until a crime has been proven.

I have no idea if the man’s telling the truth or not, but I question the need for an aggressive takedown maneuver for someone that age. Could understand if he was putting up a fight & resisting. Also, I think it’s piss poor for of them not letting him go to the restroom while in custody. Why is no one inspecting the jails? That’s typically a part of a grand jury’s job & happens a few times a year, so I thought
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

According to a good source, he didn't give them time to go, never asked before creating the scene that was described. I wasn't there, so I can't attest to it. I will say that I have been in a lot of jails across the US and I have seen some poor conditions, but nothing that I thought was to bad for a criminal. With that said, most of what I saw was not inside individual cells.

I have a very mixed feeling towards law enforcement. I worked with a number of really good ones. I worked with some shit heads I had to put in their place a time or two.
My brother died at the hands of a dirty cop while in jail. That dirty cop and his family died at the hands of one of his dirty confederates a few years later and I didn't shed a tear.
I love good law enforcement and I'd do anything to help them. I'd step on the forehead of a dirty cop if he was drowning and asking for help. When you're in a position of trust. Be trustworthy. If you're not, you're worse than the criminals.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
