My buddy that drew the non res permit has his son over hunting but they aren’t hearing anything either. Not great gobbling weather.
I didn’t draw a non resident permit for third year in a row so my kids can’t hunt the National Forest til April 1. As if it not frustrating enough not drawing as an adult….keeping me from taking my children on youth hunt is physco.
I need to find a lease

I have access to private. I forgot about the youth draw by the time it was past… They draw like 100 limited youth permits for certain places. So odds aren’t great. The fact they don’t allow kids to hunt open National Forest if their dads don’t draw a non resident pre April 1 permit is very interesting. Of course Alabama having 1 day. Daylight til 1pm youth hunt on public isn’t ideal either. The amount of turkeys killed on national forest by youths is biologically insignificant. But hey. Can’t let these kids shoot our turkeys. I’m a firm believer in taking kids during the regular season…..specifically on private lands. Taking them to hunt public outside the youth season is too risky for me.
