Can anyone explain why we have or participate in this? I have never personally received any benefit from it unless I didn’t know it. So why do we spend billions on something that we never seem to see any kind of known results. So what’s the purpose cause most things people do has a purpose or they get a result. Supposedly research. Research for what? Either it’s for something we don’t know about or it’s all bullshit like everything else. As far as nasa that place is supposedly an empty building due to privatization and space x. I guess my question is why or what’s the purpose? As far as going to mars I think that’s all bullshit to.

Now Elon (private company) is doing it at a fraction of the cost.

Either we keep up with others in space in research and observing goings on or we get left behind... There is a movie " ISS " ..... I would not liked to have been the astronaut that saw the first of many nukes detonating on earth.

I have always assumed the reason we are doing it is we merged from being in a space race with the Russians to a space race with the Chinese. So we have to keep spending big space money to either stay ahead of or keep up with China.
