No way in the hell I'm eating a giant orange toothed rat unless society has collapsed and it comes down to a choice to eat it or starve to death.

No way in the hell I'm eating a giant orange toothed rat unless society has collapsed and it comes down to a choice to eat it or starve to death. Folks eat small, orange toothed, bushy tailed rats all the time. They go so far as to make dumplings with them.

Paging Marshmud ! Chiken is cheap Tboy!!!! I’m gonna have to be in a bad place before I eat a nutria. I’ve caught, skinned, scraped and dried way too many of those things in my youth. I’d eat a squirrel before a nutria and I’ve never eaten a squirrel because it reminds me of a big ole trash rat. Nope Nope Nope!!!

growing up, we made brunswick stew and gumbo with squirrel...it wasn't a big deal and nobody ever asked or complained.
we'd eat fried squirrel simmered in gravy if killed them late enough in the season. never really thought anything of it.

I can’t believe you have never eaten a nutria Marsh!!! I’ve eaten some small ones a couple of times and they are pretty good in a gravy not so much on the grill. Had some nutria sausage that real good. 🤮🤮

When I was in the USAF - I had an assignment to Osan Korea (ultimately was canceled), I told my wife that the first thing I was going to do was to pick out a dog to eat. Not that I've ever eaten a dog, to the best of my knowledge, but since at some point in time I knew I was going to eat one - I at least wanted to pick it out. I suspect that I have eaten many things that I didn't know what it was - I guess at the end of the day "ignorance is bliss".
If you've never been to a 3rd world country - you'd be surprised at what you'll eat after a couple of weeks. You learn quickly to not ask any questions, just eat it and hope you don't get sick.
