I have an offer to fill my protege tank for $1.99 / gallon. It's been a while since I had to buy any, so i don't know what it should be. Is it worth buying now or waiting until fall to see what the price is?

Last 100 gallons we got was close to $400 and would've been close to $650 to completely fill it. That's a decent price at $2.00. Our average price is $3.00 - $3.15 around here, right now.

Thompson just charged me 3.89 last week. I only got 100 gallons because they were so high; I'll fill it up in August when it should be cheaper.

Do you own your tank or lease it? I leased mine 30 years ago from hometown company Automatic Gas, they got bought out by Thompson, and I'm stuck with worst price possible. And the same thing happened at the camp and I'm stuck with Suburban there. I think that both of them charge their customers who have their tanks more than they do for a stranger who calls and orders.

If I could get 1.99, I would look for a 1000 gallon tank and fill it. I don't expect a price like that to last.

The only catch I find is they charge $140 for a leak test. I own my tank

1.99 was my pre booked price last October, had to get 100 gallons last week at 3.19 to make it till this October

Same here . I lease mine . Thompson biggest bunch crooks ever . They bought out Clark gas here in Florence . Tank rental was $34 yr. They wanted put a meter on it so they could keep up with it remote at no charge . Now they want $74 yr for tank rental because a meter on it . Pisses me off. I prepayed for 300 gal at $2.39 last yr . Wanted my last 69 gal delivered month ago . Would not show up unless I got 100 gal . 31 gal at $3.64 . Piss me off again . Showed up at moms last week She had 89 gal left on prepay . So they filled hers up without her knowing it . It’s 250 gal tank . Charged her $3.64 for for 150 gal I think . She 89 yrs old and didn’t know what happened . They took advantage of her. I been looking for a tank for me just so I can call whoever fill mine . Hard to come by . Some companies here won’t sell me a new one an if they do it’s a $1000 . I would love find used 500 gal a tell this bunch go to hell.

Around here Doodle sold out to Suburban years ago. Suburban closed the local store. You g gf ad to call New Jersey to place an order. It was then delivered several days later from Hazel Green I believe. Their price got so high I told them to come get their tank. It set here for 8 years or longer and I received a letter in the mail offering to sell it to me for a couple of hundred dollars. I responded with my rental charge was the same as theirs on the tank rental. That was maybe 5 years ago. Never got another response from them. I only use propane for gas logs so I simply bought 2 100lb bottles.
