I just use the scan tool to make it default to "off" never thought about it again after that.

When we were shopping for Mrs. Irish her new Mazda CX-5 we specifically searched for one without the start stop and without the cylinder deactivation. That was hard to find on one of the Premium trim levels like we wanted, but in the end we found it at Echo park over in Atlanta.

I don’t think it will void your warranty. On a Ford they use a program called forescan. Something like that. You can change a lot of the unwanted features. It helps if you know a ford technician

It can' be as bad as the stupid cylinder delete on Chevy 5.3's. They are a grenade waiting to go off. Roller lifter turns sideways and grinds the lobe off the camshaft and guess where all THAT metal goes!!
