They've been doing that shit for decades in the fire service and law enforcement. I worked with a total of 2 that could competently do the job. One was such a PITA to work with nobody wanted to be around her. The other I didn't get to work with that long, but she was equally or more fit to the do the job than most of the men I worked with. No idea how crazy she really was. But she could do the job at a high level.
I met two others I think would have probably been fit for the job.
Most had to have the requirements reduced to get in. Liability when you didn't need a liability. When the shit hits the fan and it's life or death, I don't have time to worry if the person next to me can keep up. But it's being forced on those who can do the job. Not to mention all the extraneous bullshit that comes with it.
I don't care if you're black, white, orange, yellow or green. Male or female doesn't matter either. If you can do the job at the required levels of those you work with and mix with the team without making waves, I'm good. Otherwise you need a new career.
FBI needs to bring back that old minimum standard, give them a deadline and make them sink or swim. That's easy to cull the herd that way.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
