That shit will kill you.
I dropped 30 lbs in about 3 months.
Limit your sugar, no bread, no taters (maybe 5-6 fries), zero vegetables. I have had one salad since September.
Lots of meat, eggs, and cheese. Eggs fried in butter or tallow. Only maple syrup for sweetener.
I am down about 100 lbs from my start. First 50 came from portion control. Next 20 came from reducing carbs. I hovered at 245-250 for over a year, then decided to get serious. I stopped eating vegetables and eliminated almost 100% of seed oils.
That was an unbelievable difference. I feel better, sleep better, less inflammation, less joint pain.
Typical day is a square of casserole that I make with eggs, cheese, whole milk plain yogurt, and pork sausage as a snack about 10 AM. Main meal around 4-5. Some days it's 8-10 naked wings, some days it's a huge cheeseburger, no bun, mustard only. Some days it's a steak fried in butter or tallow, with melted butter on it. Any of these might be accompanied by a couple of fried eggs. Only "vegetables" I ever eat any more are fermented pickles.
Other than a bourbon drink occasionally, my liquid intake is black coffee or water with lemon and Celtic sea salt.
Other than typical old age aches and pains, I feel better than I have in years.

Uncle Huck is spitting truth.
About the only things I would change is use Monk Fruit or Raw unfiltered honey as a sweetener. Monk fruit is best. 0 carb and all natural
Also, not all vegetable is bad from a carb standpoint. Typically, if it is green, it is low in carb. Everything else he put out there, I am in 100% total agreement.
Seed oils are in everything and damn near impossible to get away from. Just eliminate them as best you can. It will take some effort.

I’ve been on tirzepatide through Ro since Oct and down from 300 to 241 last time I weighed last week. I eat a low carb diet and walk 6-8 miles 4-5 times weekly with 50 pounds of sand in a backpack. The medication will help cut the cravings and will drastically decrease your portion size per meal. Last night got mexican from my favorite place here in Chatt, ate maybe 1/2 of it when a year ago I’d knocked out the whole plate plus chips and salsa and a 10 piece wings.
I’m getting my last 4 week supply next week as the FDA now has ruled no longer a shortage so the pharmacies can not compound and sell it anymore. Ro does have the option to get name brand stuff still with Ro but I’m at a size I feel I can continue the loss with diet and exercise. Cost wise the consult fee is $145 a month with Ro and the medication was $399. My original plan was to get to around 220 on the meds so this just puts me off the meds a month or two sooner.
From a clinical standpoint, I’ve prescribed this for weight loss and we have a protocol we follow and once down the BMI of 30 then off the meds. Ro was easy to use but without the compounding meds being available now I’d suggest seeing your PCP and going that route. They may even be able to get it approved for your insurance to cover it depending on health history.

Yup lol, you gotta make sure you got plenty of fruits and veggies. I’ve always been partial to the sunsweet dates so I’ll snack on those as well. But gotta keep fiber in diet. Every meal I’ll have a small salad and side of veggies. As long as you keep keep on top of it then it’s not too much of an issues.

I'm down 100lbs in 2 years using Monjauro for type 2. Doc prescribed it and told me about a coupon on Lily's site for $25 a 'scrip (month) for a year. Printed it out and took it to the pharmacy (most national pharmacies take them, some independents don't, or didn't during the shortage). I did end up having to do some phone time between Doc and insurance, in the beginning and re-up the yearly coupon, to get the Doc to put in an override for insurance to get it covered. For the savings, it was worth it.

Ozempic and mounjaro are very good drugs just difficult to get approved. The weight loss craze has fully over shadowed their positive effects on kidneys, heart, and diabetes amongst other good things. Yes diet/exercise is first line/great but these drugs are good

Yes diet/exercise is first line/great but these drugs are good One mistake a lot of people make is not eating enough protein and still incorporating some light/moderate weight training. If you don't do both of those things, you'll lose muscle mass too. Make sure you're getting plenty of protein, lift some weights a few times/week. That'll keep the muscle mass in place (which will help burn additional fat).

I know a woman who is getting fatter on ozempic. Meanwhile people who eliminate sugar, shun carbs, avoid drive through and go for walks daily lose weight.
Ozempic and similar medicines don't "make you lose weight"....the people that have that mindset are doomed to fail. They might drop some weight initially (or not at all like the woman you know) but the moment they stop taking it, they'll gain it back (and then some, probably). Those medicines are simply intended to help you do the things that you need to do to lose weight....eat less/better, stay "full" longer, stop cravings, etc. The medicine is intended to help you change your lifestyle. If you take the medicine but still eat like you always have, you'll get temporary results at best, and likely no results or negative results at worst.

I've been taking it (Wegovy, specifically) since September (so right at 6 months). I started at 250 and currently 232 and down a couple of notches on my belt, although the scale hasn't moved since the first week of Dec, I've only maintained. That is mostly my fault, as I haven't been working out at all, but I plan to start that back.
The biggest things I've noticed are:
1. I have ZERO taste for alcohol anymore. I'll still drink a beer here and there, but if I never had another sip I wouldn't miss it. I've got a couple of bottles of decent bourbon that I haven't even cracked the seal on...just not remotely interested.
2. I don't crave "junk food" much anymore. Snack food (chips and stuff like that) used to be a big weakness. Now I can take or leave it, and I can eat just a few without going overboard.
3. I find myself shocked (and kinda grossed out) at how much I used to eat. At most restaurants these days, MrsGomer and I will share a single meal and often still have food left over. In the past, we'd have each gotten our own plate and I would have cleaned mine. I don't know how I ever ate as much as I did and frankly it's a little disgusting and shameful.

What are you down to Cal?
Around 220-225. My joints are much happier, but I've had to renew my wardrobe, twice. Went from 44 pants to 38 and back down to 2xl shirts (mostly for sleeve length in long sleeve shirts that I can't find XL tall in).
