Yup. NYC just tried the "congestion tax" and Trump put an end to that mess. Those roads and bridges going into Manhattan are Federal first. California seems to forget that part of the equation. We here in Crenshaw county are made aware of that fact daily because every main road in the county is Federal first, then state, then county, then last municipalities. The potholes to asphalt ratio confirms that fact daily. Our Federal roads are not bad, ....the county roads..welll thats another matter.

California is about 20 or 30 years ahead of everybody else with the dumbest fucking ideas on the face of the earth. So by the time Alabama gets to it we will all be too old to drive

I would think when you file your income taxes they will want your mileage at the beginning of the year and your mileage at the end of the year on your tax returns. If you lie about it, it would eventually catch up with you one way or another.

It dont work anything like that now. You have to write it down but theres no actual proof of any kind. I figure theyll be wanting to use the gps on our phones for something like this. I doubt it would be too hard to calculate. The info is already there. They just have to collect it and send you a bill for every mile you traveled in the road. I wonder if its for drivers only?

California has some of the worst roads in the country too. I believe the info about how much the taxes is, is severely underestimated. I pay atleast 1.50-2.00 more per gallon in California than in bama.

I had two vehicles when I wrote off a lot of miles. Made it easy to keep up with.

The last time I wrote off miles I just logged days I drove for my side hustle, it correlated with obvious days I was contracted for work
