I remember back in the day when you wanted to buy some tickets to go see Led Zeppelin or Blue Oyster Cult or some band like that you drove your car down to the local record store or the the ticket office at Boutwell Auditorium and you pulled out about $7 in cash per ticket and you bought the tickets. Then when the show came around you went down there, showed your ticket, got in, watched the show and had a good time with your girl.
Fast forward to now, and we are in Austin to watch the MotoGP races. I had to go on their website, drill down through a bunch of crap, find the seats, wade through a bunch of other menus, the pay for parking separately, then it kicked me out to Ticketmaster and had to put our information in to there as well, and needed to change the password for Ticket master, then it declined our card, because our card flagged it as fraudulent, then the whole thing timed out and we lost our seats we picked out, then we had to go back in and find all the crap again. It took like 30 minutes to buy two tickets and the *&^%ing parking!
Oh and then I had to download the MotoGP race app to my phone so I could even see the tickets we just bought! Then it warns me to download the tickets we just bought to my Google Wallet, in case we didn't have service at the track!
I have never had to work so hard to give someone $566 of my hard earned money in my entire life! BTW... *(&%ing parking was $40 for Saturday and $50 for Sunday.
I told Mrs. Irish I hope we and our friends enjoy the motorcycle races, because this will be the last time we go.
Sounds like a pain in the ass. Hope y’all have a good time. How did you get from cooking a gourmet meal on lookout Mt seems like yesterday now next day y’all are in Austin smh. Waiting for the food pics from Texas 👍
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.
We are planning to go watch a family friend that plays for the Orioles when they play the Braves in Atlanta. My MIL would like to sit by her friend who is Gunnar's grandmother but looking at the tickets they would be $400+ each and this is just in the stands, not a luxury suite or anything. If anyone has an in for Braves tickets on the third base side, let me know.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
I understand the comments about the price of tickets, and I feel the same way, but this was originally a trip with a bunch of my motorcycle buddies to ride out here and see a once in a lifetime top of the line motorcycle racing event. Then it turned into everybody bringing the wives, then everybody was flying out here, then we were going to add in sight seeing, then Mrs. Irish and I decided to turn it into an old fashioned road trip since we have all the time in the World to travel, so here we are...
For those that don't know, Moto GP is the motorcycle equivalent of Formula One Grand Prix racing for cars. We did Moto America last year at Road Atlanta and all wanted to do this.

That’s why I gave up my tickets at Talladega. Held the same seats for years. Got tired of the traffic. Did the same with Bama football. Got tired of ticket prices. Hell it’s all on tv. Kitchen is 30 feet away and the bathroom is never crowded.

I’d think it’d be worth it. Heck of an experience and I used to follow Mott GP and they got balls of steel. Also still kinda follow Supercross and F1. Don’t care for those going in circles.
I grew up on Kenny Robert’s and Hurricane Hannah

Same. Our season tix package is about $3400, this year (2 tickets, parking pass, Bulldog Club donation...a.k.a. seat fee for better section) if we purchase. We haven't been in the game for a few years and barely make it to tailgate (just to get my wife out of the house, mostly) and $3400 is lot of money for such a poor offering on the field, with no real improvement in sight for the foreseeable future. My drinks are cheaper, food is better, no crowd of "out of MY way" to fight and accommodations are much more comfortable.

Same at a high school football game. No cash, only online. Told the lady my daughter is in the marching band and she could take my $10 bill or I would just climb the damn fence to get in. She apologized and let me in for free! Said she knew what I meant! Ha Ha All this online payment crap is ridiculous, a lot of businesses losing my business nowadays.

I was an Auburn student in 1989 when the first Alabama game was in Jordan Hare. Auburn printed special tickets for that game which were huge, but the students didn't get them. We just had our normal punch season tickets.

In the earlier part of that decade our student tickets books were $1/game and the student section was a lot bigger than now. Young people these days have no idea what a ticket book is anymore.

I remember when concert tickets broke the $20.00 mark. I swore it would be the end of concerts but as usual people keep paying it.
I think I remember seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd in the '70's at Rickwood Field in Birmingham and I think tickets were like $7. Of course I think I made about $1.75 an hour working at Jim Davenports Pizza too... So there's that...
Took my son to the Alabama/Auburn football game this year.
We had to pick up the tickets at will call.
At will call, They handed us real hardcopy tickets.
My buddy who has season passes and does everything electronically said it had been years since he had seen real tickets.
Me and my son kept them for memorabilia

If that was the concert that started late due to rain and they shut it down in the middle of Free Bird because there was a set time to shut down regardless of start time........ I was there. Oh, they turned the power back on and Free Bird got finished before more of the stadium got destroyed....... Might have been July 4th 1975 or so.
Also, I followed motorcycle road racing back when Kenny Roberts was the king of the sport. Nerves of steel and fearless I reckon!
