A few months ago my aunt gave me my pawpaws crosscut saw. Its the saw he used 80yrs ago, i guess, to clear his land to farm. Its hanging in my living room. A couple weeks ago, i was cutting a tree for my mothers uncle, my great uncle. We were talking about saws and he told me my mother had sold him my daddys chainsaw when they got divorced. I would hav been about 6yo. I told him i would sure like to have it if he ever wanted to get rid of it. He said he paid $50 for it and he would sell it for that. His wife heard him and said "you give that boy his daddys saw, hes cut trees for us way t cheap and you havent ever used that saw." So, now i hav my daddys first chainsaw and it only cost me $200 to get it back going. Its a mid 70s model Homelite xl. She purrs like a kitten now. Im gona cut a tree with it soon.

Thats a pretty big deal for a fella that has made a livin with a saw all his life. I got daddys last chainsaw when he died. It is a stihl 210, he used it to saw limbs in the orchard. I gave it to my son. Josephs first saw was daddys last saw.

Dude, that's awesome! Post a video of you using it. Hang on to it and give it to Joseph one day...

When i picked that Homelite up today, from my sawman who got it running, i said "i reckon im an idiot for spending $200 on a saw you could buy for $50 at a yardsale?" I wouldnt take $1000 for it. I was sure proud to get it.

Cut a tree with it and then put it up. Very neat opportunity to be able to have it. Catching up on the Hayden AL podcasts an listened to the episode you were on last week and really enjoyed it.

That's a lot to be proud of! If I were building a new home, I think I would cut some small chunk of wood with each saw and display it proudly in the new home as a tribute. That's just my thinking.
