I have a 2013 Polaris Ranger 900. It has been basically trouble free in spite of me not having kept it serviced as I should have. A few days ago, I got in it to go and it would crank and idle fine. I put it in D and it would move, but only at a low speed. The engine rpm would not increase. Yesterday, I was going to move it the barn where I could work on it, but it now will not move. It could asks fine and the idle sounds smooth. The gas pedal feels fine. But when the gas pedal is pressed, nothing changes with the engine speed. It is now not enough rpm to engage the drive belt.

A few of the forums I looked at say I need to change the throttle position sensor. Before I start throwing parts at it, I wondered if any of y’all had seen a similar problem. Thanks.

Sounds like the accelerator sensor. Throttle position sensor, whatever they are called. Had a buddy that had one do the same thing and that was the fix

I have also had to replace throttle on my 2015 EV. It would not move and keep messing with throttle and it would go wide open and haul butt. Have to pull up on emergency brake to make ECU disconnect throttle.
Might call dealer th y had a recall on the throttle sensor. Mine happened before they issued recall and they wanted double for what I found from dealer on internet.

Seems like I remember a sensor under the brake pedal arm that caused that issue on one I had.

Been through this. Mine did it intermittently. Went through every kind of sensor, some other expensive part that I can’t remember the name of right now, and finally fixed it with a fuel pump. Yours could be different, but it sounds like a real similar problem. The sensors are cheap. The map something or another I replaced wasn’t, but there was a chance it could be it. Mine did it every time I turned lights of any kind on. I guess pulling power away from the pump?? Anyway, I ordered one from superatv I believe and haven’t had a problem since, and that’s been 6 or 8 months ago. Good luck. They can be frustrating.

Oh, and mine is a 2015 900 Polaris. Bet it’s the fuel pump. 5 minute changeout time.

I went to the dealer today to ask about the Throttle Position Sensor. I was told that the dealer can only sell it as an assembly with the Throttle Body. The price is over $634. They freely told me I could buy the sensor by itself on-line. The first 3 places I checked on-line also sold it only as an assembly. I did find just the sensor on Amazon for <$20. That’s probably what I’ll try first.

I will go ahead and price the sensors that go on the pedals and a fuel pump. As old as it’s getting, if they haven’t gone out, they can’t be far from it. I have no complaints with the Ranger. I ought to be ashamed of how poorly I’ve maintained it. It’s the only piece of equipment I have that I just keep gas in and drive.
