Sad deal for sure. This whole giving out piles of money to teenagers who've never had anything is leading to stuff like this.
That’s a long connection of two dots that I don’t think are connected. Can you explain how giving a poor person money as a teenager causes them to leave the scene of an accident and then kill them self?

He’s probably leaning towards fast cars, tiring lifestyles, and above the law attitudes that comes with fame and fortune… when a kid that’s raised poor gets a great amount of money doesn’t know how to act. Spending it on things which I mentioned above… money didn’t make him commit suicide but it may have contributed to the situation where he caused the crash that killed someone, in turn he probably couldn’t carry that burden and killed himself…
I’m not saying that’s not what happened in this situation, and I understand how it could. But I think it’s not a good assessment of college athletics. Saying giving money to teens that have never had anything is leading to stuff like this makes it sound like this kind of thing is common place.

Yeah, I know he was in the NFL when he killed someone but he was only out of school by a year or so. The NFL has been trying to educate the young players on good money management for years. A large percentage of them end up broke by blowing their money on Lamborghinis and giant houses and strip clubs. 18 yo kids get a million bucks and blow half of it within a week on cars. If i was given a million bucks when I entered college I would be very comfortably retired by now.

But blowing money is different than committing suicide. Or killing someone in a car crash. I could not care less if they blow their money. That’s their choice and it’s a free country.
