Who has done one and what diy tips can you give on it. Also where did you get the blank. If you know anybody that can make one, let me know about what they are running.
Thinking about making a pair out of one of my birds this year.

I am in the process of making two and they are a total PITA. You have to grind the tang down so much that it's basically a 1/4 round stock. If you want to use something as a pommel there is no way to mechanically attach it to the tang short of splitting it with a dremel and peening it over which looks like crap. Once you are done you have a cool looking non functional knife that if you ever try to use it will snap where the tang comes out of the blade. I'm just building them for looks to go ina shadow box so I'm just going to glue them together.

Use the Scandanvian style blanks. They have longer and thinner tangs so you won't have to spend so long at the grinder.
