Got a few hours to spare this morning, hope to hear one!

Seems our turkeys are done and the hens are nesting

Hopefully I am wrong and there is a few still getting after it.

it’s going to be a beautiful morning to enjoy the sunrise!

Good luck fellas

Good luck. At the mines today and an early Dr appointment tomorrow morning, then I'll get after them. Not much gobbling at any of my places

Oh God. Is your gun still in one piece? One of the sickest feelings in the world. Maybe you can call him back after he calms down in a bit.

Finally had one come in silent and brother smooth missed at 30 yards. . Later back at the camp . He told me he had put on a new sight and had not test fired it. Put up a target at 30 and he wasn’t even on paper . I shame , shamed all the way home. He’s pushing 80 so I giving him a slight pass this time.Go figure!

Nothin on the limb then blind called up 2 hens to a powerline and after not seeing anything they walked off. About the time they walked off I heard a gobble back to the north the opposite way they went. I got up and eased 75yds their way and started calling and they answered. about 10 min later I hear those hens coming back yelpin loud and they were answering her so I got loud too and they went crazy. After a few minutes I realize the hens headin the gobblers way just over a knoll. I yelped again and they double gobbled then silence after that. About 10 min passed and I caught movement about 70-80yds to my right and its both gobblers easing my way. They went behind a blow down and I got turned on them and they got to about 60-70yds and those hens yelped back out on the powerline real loud and both gobblers took a hard left and went straight to them. Just glad to finally find a bird that I could work.

Had one gobble on the limb twice probably 300 yds from my listening spot. Got in his general area and he never said another word. Sat down and soft called for over an hour. Nothing. Eased out and back to work.

You have got to be kidding me! My doctor did not follow protocal and left the chamber empty. I am beginning to wonder if I need to change Docs.

Just kidding !!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t swap you for anybody!!! sometimes we do this thinking about safety and I am all about being safe! Season is still young so you might get another chance. It leaves an empty feeling in the gut to call one up into range and let him get away. That’s why it’s called hunting. You’re off tomorrow so give em a fit. B

His gun wasn’t empty teacher, just one that will fail you half the time if you walk through a thicket with it. I hate it for you Tiler!

Finished my “Gauge Slam” this morning. Had killed one with all gauges but a 28. My little CZ Double ended my quest, haha.

So got to my spot a little earlier than yesterday…he gobbled 120 yards from me…I slipped through some privet which must have been where my bolt got disengaged. I gave a tree yelp which he hit. Had 2 hens carrying on at him. Did a soft fly down with my hat as well…with clucks and purrs after. Hen did a fly down and he hit on the ground at 6:05. I cut at him where he ate it up with in 50 though just over the rise in the field. I didn’t have time to play the waiting game with work and daycare for my son so I cutt where when he gobbled, I got a bead on where he was basically. I then slowly stood up to see him full strut at 35 yards. I put the red dot on his head and “click”. I shucked one where he ran 10 yards and stopped. I leaned around a tree and thought I had him as he was walking etc but shot through a few stuff where he proceeded to fly off. It was a tough pill to swallow as I proceeded to complain to every patient today about missing a bird despite half of them not knowing anything about hunting in general 😂 My gun is a franchi that I’ve customized that may be for sale soon that has killed its share of birds 😂

My Uncle had an Ithaca back in the 70’s that he had basically made a safe queen. Said if he had to tote that heavy thing to kill a turkey, he just wouldn’t kill anymore. I took it a few times and shot one with it. I was 13 or 14 might have weighed 100 pounds. I decided one was enough. Thanks, gotta find something else to chase now.
