Do any of you guys have any Inside advise. Next Thursday at 0630 im going under the knife for a bypass on 4 arteries> Would be lying if I said I was not scared Chitless!
I had a quadruple bypass July 2003. In the recovery room, they gave me a heart shaped pillow and told me to keep it with me for when I had to cough. I laughed it off until I did cough. About squeezed that pillow flat. Trust the Lord, follow your rehab instructions, and keep a positive attitude. I did and I'm still kicking at 76 years old.

Serious question… if you trust in the Lord then why are you scared. Death? Pain or just the unknown? Praying for you and a speedy recovery.
Good luck and everything should go well especially if you are cleared otherwise for surgery.

Knew I’d get jumped. God made me smart enough to control the things I can and he’ll take care of the rest. If it’s your time he’s gonna get you. All I can do is kiss my loved ones and tell them I love them before I leave and come back. No matter if it’s just walking out the door.

I had valve replacement years back. Was scared to death! Pain first few days - but for me - it was not near as bad as i thought!! DO NOT go picking up anything for weeks. Think they told be nothing over 8 pounds for 4 weeks. Reason is - you can split your chest back open and need a redo Just do what they tell you! Walking daily was key to my recovery
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I had double bypass on Thanksgiving Day of 2003 at age 52. I was deer hunting in Jan. 2004, out of a climber. Back surgery at age 71 has been my problem.

They've cracked me open twice. Fair amount of pain the first few days, then just recovery. The first time you sneeze will be......interesting.
Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.

I have the faith that when I pass from death unto life, all will be well, and I will be in the Father's presence. That doesn't stop my worry of pain that I may have to endure, the unknown and not experiencing some of things with my children that I want to experience. I have a few more dirt roads I want to ride, a few more crappie I want to catch as well as more worldly things that really doesn't matter.
Faith, for me isn't an issue. I'm ready in that regards but, I'm not ready. When He calls me home, I'll gladly go. The Old song says, I'm a winner either way. Whether I go or whether I stay, I'm a winner either way. I would rather stay a while longer if I was to be honest.
I believe we all have an appointed time. Sometimes, it might not have been your time, but it happened. His word teaches that it was His Will, that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. It wasn't His Will for some ol drunk to hit a tree and die in his sins. He could have died before his appointed time.
Just some random thoughts. Good luck on your surgery, I pray all comes out well and His Will is done in your life as it is in Heaven.

Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of Sin and Death"

My mom was 85 when she had valve replacement and bypass surgery. She made it fine though the operation. The recovery process was long but if she hadn't had the operation she would have been gone within a few months
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!
