Hognose was my 1st guess. Did it roll over and play dead with its tongue out when you messed with it? Either way, "it no poison"

My grandma would call that a 'spread'n adder' I believe. Does it flatten is head like a cobra if you get it agitated?

Dekays Brown.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

There are only 4 snakes in Alabama:
1) rattlesnake
2) copperhead
3) cottonmouth
4) cobra

Assume anything unidentifiable is a spitting cobra
