Just make it illegal for women to spend money unless they have children.

I have no issue with a tax credit for the year of a child's birth that takes that amount from that year's tax burden (because anyone who has had a child knows there is a lot of new and extra expense the year of a child's birth), but otherwise it is a terrible idea!
I understand the basic idea behind his statement, though, and I suspect it came from Elon's comment about how our population is declining because there are lots of people with no kids or only one kid from a union instead of at least two kids to replace both parents.
I have also read a ton of comments about how it is just too expensive to have kids and folks just are not choosing to have them because of that reason alone (although, I also suspect that it is because they don't want to trade the expense of getting nails done and playing golf for diapers and possibly formula). Society has become very self-centric and making compromises about much of anything is not high on the list of things to do.

Yeah you know what’s funny? Who is the most typical demographic to have children the “right” way (married, financially stable, etc)..
Post college grad adults. But yet… no student loan relief, no income based repayments, no capped interest, no pressure on universities to drop tuition rates..
Even without straight up loan forgiveness, they’re taking away income based repayments and sending anyone who can’t pay the new rate to collections, but sure.. tell them to pump out babies.
This is just plain dumb. Why should the taxpayer have to subsidize somone's educational costs? You going to repay me for my student loan I paid off? Heck lets just make everything free. The incentive to have children is to help with our declining population, but it needs to be written that you can't take advantage of it if you are on welfare.

I hear a lot of people saying they don’t want to bring a child into this sorry world. I suspect it’s all talk

You gonna start popping babies out when you get out of college when you graduate with 30-60k or more in student loans? On top of your rent/mortgage, car payment, groceries, etc?

Women could be paid $5,000 to have babies under Trump Trump said he thought it was a great idea. Welfare has already been paying them for decades... Perhaps in the Trump plan they have to prove financial stability to qualify for the $5k? The problem is that in most developed countries the birthrate and therefore the populations are in decline. The only thing keeping countries like The United States in positive numbers is immigration.

Well I found out last week that I lost a child tax credit because mine was 17 this year. I thought it was 18 and extended for college students living at home. Still will live at home for at least the next 2 years. Oh well my house is like a freaking orphanage any ways. Mine always have extras over.
Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!
