The only women who would do this are the same ones already pumping out kids for welfare and ebt $. Bad idea. Yes. Hell, I think there’s plenty of people. Too many actually

All the tax credits are a tool for social manipulation by our government.
A flat tax without any deductions or a VAT is the only equitable tax system.

And I just used nurse off the top of my head because it’s a common female profession but yeah, there are some RN employers who will pay for it, if you sign a contract (and hope you don’t have an employer from hell). But that’s super rare as an overall thing. No school pays a teacher (they had PSLF for that until now). Or what if she wanted to be an engineer, computer science, or biology major?
My daughter's employer did not pay for her schooling. Where she attended, the last posted estimate to complete the nursing program to become an RN was a little over $18K. As far as the "what if she wanted to be an engineer, computer science, or biology major" argument, my son is currently a biology major and his tuition is much less than Auburn's. Folks need to shop around.

Back to the original post. If money were to be given as far as having children goes, I would much rather that money be put toward helping people with adoption fees for the kids already here that need parents.

I can't believe that this thread that has drifted away from making babies for bucks and evolved into a thread about college tuition finances, hasn't had the GI bill mentioned until right now. But then again, who wants to be a part of an Obama or Biden military... I sure am glad DT is the Commander in Chief now. It was relevant. Some republicans think people aren’t having enough babies. To the point they are mulling offering cash and “medals” (I just want to point out that is some WW2 Germany and current day Putin policies, btw). I was just pointing out one of the why’s. Cost of living is crazy high, and a large portion of the fertile population is starting out in debt.

I agree. I think an elementary education certificate should be a 2 year program. If we can have 2 year programs that turn out RN's, a certificate to teach little Johnny how to spell and do basic math shouldn't take 4. Electives.....do away with them. Michael, I absolutely agree with you that the costs of education are way too high and have been inflated to ridiculous points. I just can't agree that someone shouldn't pay debts they chose to create.

We are living such messed up world . Pay a women to have a baby WTH. Plenty kids needs adopted. If you can’t afford have a kid then don’t . Some folks pump out baby’s already for welfare and tax credit money with no daddy . So it’s already going on . A family member runs a day care . Make me sick to see the women dump the kids on someone else . And the daycare is paid with our tax dollars to take care of them. An don’t get me started on the stupid student loan fiasco. If you can’t pay for college don’t go . All friends of mine have really good jobs and none went to college . Started thru apprenticeship and worked way up .

All of the above gals under No good deed goes unpunished
It may start out as well meaning but it always turns into a system of fraud and abuse
Ease of student loans funds the uptick in cost of a higher education Child tax credits and welfare systems create monetization of kids and abuse of I see it everyone I go to the grocery store
In the end I any and all well thought of programs create government dependency and that is the end goal for lifelong politicians

Population growth is not necessarily a bad thing.
Population decline is not necessarily a bad thing.
The bad thing is when your God forsaken enemies have more people than you do...
- Irishguy I think that’s the fear of Like a business that is not growing then it’s failing mentality Likewise the same is said of the population. Our welfare system is so lopsided we need more payers than takers and those numbers have flipped

All the powers that be have been looking at universal incomes since labor is becoming more and more automated simply because of legacy cost. Why not have a reduction in population? If we don’t have so many on the welfare dole we have plenty of laborers if we really wanted them.

With very few exceptions college is an absolute waste of $. I have a 4 year degree and between me working my fool head off and generous parents I had 0 debt. With the exception of some very specific fields college is way overrated. My degree is useless. The fields that absolutely require college, generally speaking allow the person to pay it back due making above average means upon exit. But liberal arts, history, a lot of business, some engineering, and even some medical professions college is dumb.
Covid proved how dumb doctors can be and they’re some of the most highly educated out there.
And most of the people wanting loan forgiveness chose dumb majors in college While I agree. I also disagree to some point History is a dang good metric we should live by. It’s the reason the left wants it rewritten continually. English is necessary, especially cursive. There’s a reason to dumb down language and the left doesn’t want a national language of English

Birthday cards and my signature. Good English and composition is important, but that should be learned before college. If the kids haven't learned good English before college, first year college courses are not designed to correct their deficiencies.

All of the English I learned was before college. Any English I learned in college was mostly a bunch of liberal propaganda. Any truly useful math that most people need to know was also learned in high school. I’d argue strongly the same could be said for basically every subject
