Have any of you guys ever looked at this program?? I know it's $25 to download, and looking at the "how to" video it appears to me this program would be really accurate at scoring a deer from a picture. So I guess my question is, has any one used it, if so what do you think? I think it would be a WONDERFUL addition to our website for a couple of people to get it and we could score each other's deer. I see post on here every day asking people to guess what their deer scores from a trail cam picture. If this program is accurate, we could take a lot of the guessing out of it. Check it out.... www.BUCKSCORE.COM

Save yourself some money. I use a very similiar system, but I just dont have the ability to do it with the aid of a computer. I get a base measurement from the pic, it may be the guys closed hand or his finger or something you can reference that is typically a known standard size. Then I measure each tine, width and length and basically just guessitmate on the mass measurement based on the size of the rack. Not bragging, but it usually gets me within 5 points of the deer actually score, but if I dont have a reference of measure, I just use their ear, like they did in this video you referenced.

I'm not into scoring that much. It's more of an age thing to me. I did have a guy that guides in a high fence tell me the quickest way to do a guesstimate was if he's fairly semetrical, to add up the inches of the tines on one side not counting the brows, double it, an add 100 for average width, mass, and beams. Add 110 for heavy horns, good width, and long beams etc. etc. It works good for me after doing it for a while and seeing how much to add or not to add. The guess the score of a known number games that we play on here help, or if you kill deer you have on camera and score them. I tend to struggle with the latter sometimes. grin I can normally get within 10 by doing it this way.
