Good shot!
Should have gotten a picture of the arrow sticking out.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. Mountain Oysters - the original sack lunch.

Guess I'll have to be the one to say it  , not a very advisable shot on a deer with a bow.

I have a hard enough time trying to hit the vitals. I'm sure gonna miss a head shot.
I'm sure Michael Waddell could have done it blind foulded though!!!

I had a doe quartering away at 31 yards Sunday. She jumped the string and it hit her in the side of the head and came out her lower jaw. She is still running. Not smart to TRY to hit one there. The area of kill is much too small. I hope I can see her during gun season so I can end her misery.
Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

I actually killed one with a head shot about 8 years ago. She was quartered away at 35 yards and jumped the string when I shot. I hit her between the ears in the back of the head and exited through her left nostril.

It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

I had confidense in my shooting skills, it was only 14 yards and i have been hitting my target at that distance for a long time. She was quatered away except her head was looking at something in my general direction, so i felt confident, the wind was not a factor, had plenty of light and my hands were steady as a surgeon. I will post picture later.
Is it Hunting Season Yet?

Fireman, your shooting skills are irrelevant. Too many things can happen, deer moving hitting a twig. The point you miss is its unethical to attempt that shot. You could easily knock off a deers lower jaw leaving it to starve to death.
