I was looking in the new basspro shops redhead catalog.They have a barnett jackal crossbow package fully loaded includes red dot sight sayes it shoots 315 fps plus for 279.99 dollars.I've always bowed hunted but was going to try a crossbow this year due to a busted up shoulder.My question is is this a pretty good deal and setup for the money because money being kinda tight right now. thanks for any info.

If its advertised at 315fps you can figure its gonna shoot about 275-285fps. Advertised fps is always inflated on any bow of crossbow. Its a entry level crossbow. It will kill deer if you dont cross its limitations. if you didnt want to invest a lot of money in crossbow hunting at first it will do the job but I guarentee you will want to upgrade if you stick with it :twocents:
