Dewalt all the way.We got 3 18volt cordless dewalts,a 3/8 drive electric and 1/2 drive electric in our work truck. We havent touched the electric drills in years. We do ALOT of metal roofing putting in thousands of screws and the dewalts have never failed us despite being dropped off roofs multiple times.

This^^^^^^^

I've accidentally dropped one from way up high to land on concrete, and it still worked, with nothing broken off. I thought I knew I was going to have to buy another one, but I was wrong. Made a believer out of me. Much like anything, you get what you pay for in tools.

dewalt is way to go. dropped mine from about 10ft and it quit working. one of the wires on the motor had come loose. pulled the back cover off and plugged wire back in and back in use again. have two drills, and a 1/2in impact. all 3 18 volt and been going good about 5 yrs now.
have to give props on the makita. have a buddy that has one and it is nice!
get lith. batteries though. only way to go.
