Just like others have said do whatever you like and don't worry what others think. I had a 142" deer skull mounted because I had a few other 140"+ deer already but no European mounts. I had some other guys act like they were mad about it but it was my deer and I did what I wanted. Your the one pulling the trigger and you are the only one who has to be happy with your decision.

My rule is it has to be bigger than any of the others I have mounted before I mount it. I don't have room for any more so if I mount one I have to take one down.

Like others have said, not all about antlers. The hunt, age ,size of deer. Maybe shot on your birthday or hunting with someone special.
One of my favs is nowhere near my biggest antlers, and was killed 25 years ago. Smart Ol' stud. Feild dressed 187 lbs, had only one eye , 8 pt,scores mid 130's. I rattled him in a couple days after Christmas.

It's gonna take a big buck for me to pay $500 to get a shoulder mount dang i must be getting a good deal from my taxi. he only charged me $325 last year. if any of ya'll needs his name, let me know. He is around the hollypond area now. I will have a deer mounted if i'm happy with it. there is no size requirement, if your happy with it , by all means have it mounted

My first buck, a forkhorn, from 30-something years ago is on a cheap plaque hanging on my wall. Sawed off the skull.
It's the only deer I have mounted, other than my antelope, the 53-inch muskie replica and a couple of Euro hog skulls. Even if I killed a 200-class whitetail I wouldn't have it mounted.
To each his own, though. Whatever makes you happy with a mount is what you should put on the wall.

ight guys, now i know yall have different opinions but what class deer would yall only have a full shoulder mount of like example: 130 and ^, need opinions Pretty much what everyone else said... for me, right now, 120 class or larger and a mature buck. keep in mind a 120 is a "good" deer in Bama. Many "120's" are really about 105-110.
