Hunting a new lease this year in Wilcox County.
Does anyone know when the rut typically starts here.
Appreciate any info given.

I am hunting other side of river in Wilcox, killed one 1/14 last year tending a doe. Usually from then till end of month. Did have a nice 8 come to rattling last Sunday,but feels like may be a late rut this year. Seeing very few scrapes, yet.

I've been hunting the Pine Apple and Old Texas area the past eight years and it gets really good the middle of the month.
We always have the best results the week of R.E. Lee's birthday.
Some hard huntin in that area.

I'm near Oak Hill, last two weeks of January are very good.
But the special post season in the first 10 days of FEBRUARY are the best!

I have been hunting on family land in Butler County about 20 miles from Pineapple for 23 years. MLK day usually is a good starting pont for the rut with it peaking around Feb.15. The deer where our land is are more nocturnal than they ever have been with the liberal doe season and seemingly year round hunting the deer are subject to.
