This time of year we are usually on the back side of buck killing in Sumter, but this year has been weird all around so you never know. Sure hope its like you guys say cuz I'd like to see a few more racks than I have this season. Yea, I think South Sumter and North Sumter are prob. 2-3 weeks apart on rut, I was hunting near north Sumter Co. in Noxubee co. and they were on fire around the first of the year, this is 5-10 miles west of Hwy 17, in south Sumter still very little rut activty, of course I didnt hunt this weekend due to weather, I think it breaks loose down in south Sumter with this cool weather rolling in

We are on Hwy 21 and the deer were chasing good last Saturday. I think they will be chasing hard the next week or so.

Our property borders the river. I've got to work this weekend so I won't be hunting but the poor guys that are going are going to be seeing a lot of mud.

Saw 4 bucks today, heavy racked 5pt, decent 8pt, a monster 8pt that would not give me a shot, a spike and 5 doe. The guy that has the lease with me killed a 12pt, it was a young deer but a nice one anyway. They are hot and heavy right now and I'll be at it for the next 8 days.
