I've never permanently lost one, but I did hide one so well that I couldn't find it for a while..... I did the same thing-Except I did it twice with the same gun. I finally put it in the safe.
I can't stand a thief.

Lecture or not...how in the hell do yall forget a gun? Mine are to expensive/important for me to misplace. I usually unload mine when I take it off and it goes on top of my safe , on top of my dresser or on top of the dinning room china cabinet. At times I have looked in those places and panicked when I couldn't find it until I remember I locked it in my safe. It's never been lost for long but there is always a panic when it's not where you think you left it.

Lecture or not...how in the hell do yall forget a gun? Mine are to expensive/important for me to misplace. God forbid some of y'all ever lose something. I know it was a gun but it turned up in a place that nobody but me would have ever found it so in safety terms it was not in danger of being located by anyone else. I only have a few places where I lay one down in my house and I had tore the place up looking for it. It was the first time I had ever lost a gun. But he'll I misplace stuff all the time. We've must have some pretty perfect people around here.
If your decoy doesnt have holes in it, your not letting him get close enough... J.H.

Hey....no one is judging. That being said...Ive got an idea. Next time you misplace a gun...keep it to yourself. That should cure the pesky comments problem you seem to be having. Glad ya found it. Back in the spring I was returning from a kayak fishing trip and dropped my boat by the storage warehouse I keep it at. As I was stowing everything I remember laying my Lowrance fish finder flat down in something and thinking "I shouldn't put this here, I'll forget where I put it". Still have t found it ...
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

"how in the hell do yall forget a gun"
That my friend is judging me. This is the first and only time I have ever lost a gun and I was not happy in anyway that I did. What I dont like is the assumption that I'm an irresponsible gun owner which I am not. I keep most of mine in the safe but there are a few that are intentionaly left out of the safe for a reason. My orginal question was reporting it or not reporting it. Not how stupid I was for loosing it.
