Was building a deck in Adamsville today around 2:15 and heard that low hum of something coming in contact with a powerline. It killed the power to the house and ended our day. After we cleaned up, we left out and one of the guys working with us went a different way. He called us and said there was a guy in a bucket truck that appeared to be dead. His truck that had the jacks down had slid down an incline and it appeared he had come in contact with the power lines. He sent me a pic that he took while sitting there waiting for the road to clear, but I'll refrain from posting it. I was just wandering if anyone has heard anything about it. I didn't see it on the news. Prayers sent for his family!

I work for the power company. I know about the accident that you are talking about. He got the wires together, but he was just tangled up in the phone lines. He was not injured.

Sounds like somebody's had a come-to-Jesus moment today. Glad the guy was ok.

Jesus... I hope you know Him personally like I do.

Since he is okay, I'll post the pic. Glad to hear he's alive. I told the story I was told. I'm glad it wasn't true! Hard to tell much about the pic.

I'm glad the guys ok.....but what moron puts a bucket truck on an incline, much less one as steep as that. He'd be fired if he worked for any utility company I know. I bet OSHSA fines the hell out of them and they should. Glad he did get someone else hurt or killed in the process.

not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

I recognize that sign in the background but can't make it out. Is that Hillcrest rd?

Not sure of the exact location. It's off cherry ave. on the north side of 78.

Not sure. Didn't see it in person. Doesn't look like an Alabama Power truck though. Maybe an independent contractor?

I was in the Mexican restaurant eating lunch across from Walmart there when the power kicked off.
