The wife and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary this weekend (can't believe she's put up with me this long). Anyway, here at the last minute, we/I am looking for a reasonably price place to stay around Orange Beach. It doesn't have to be there though, I've looked around Mexico Beach in FL and other places. We are just tired of PCB and the hustle. Nevertheless, I would appreciate if anyone has and suggestions of places to check. We just want to sit on the beach and listen to the waves crash without the kiddos this weekend. Thanks

Island House Hotel, not new but all rooms face the beach, close to everything and beach is never crowded.

Check out VRBO.com. We stay at Island Royale Condos in Gulf Shores every fall and get decent rates/nice place.

If you could convince her to wait a week, it would probably be worth it. Labor Day weekend = many people and higher rates.

We have enjoyed the Phoenix properties.
The state park in Greyton Beach FL is my favorite place for beautiful beaches and very few people.

If you have a camper, the Gulf State Park is really nice and close to everything you would want. They now have a pool that's as nice as any of the condo's and is right across the street from the Pier.

My family and I really enjoy the Pheonix properties. We always try to use VRBO to get a better deal. The Pheonix properties all have indoor pools and hot tubs. Nice for those rainy days. Head to Lartigues for some steamed shrimp and bring it back for lunch on the balcony with a cold beer!
