This year I took on the responsibility of starting a speech and debate team at the high school where I teach history. Today my team attended two Veterans Day ceremonies where some of them read a prepared speech recounting the origins and history of this solemn day. Each location had crowds between 100 and 200 people there and my kids did a great job! The second location was at a VFW post and after the presentation the team took it upon themselves to go around the room to shake hands and thank as many veterans as they could. I can take no credit for this, the kids did it all. I'm still kind of blown away by the experience. Just wanted to share
