Haven't shot a deer this season yet, I saw a spike at 8:05 this morning about 20 yards but I let him walk. Even though I have no meat for the freezer, I believe you have to let them grow. Hopefully a monster comes by or a doe.

I let a nice 6 point walk on the first hunt on A side at Black Warrior WMA this year. First time I have ever let anything bigger than a 4 pt walk on public land. Let em grow up or be harvested by somebody's kid, it felt good.

I have one pretty good 8 that I have let go twice. With my limited hunting time this yr, I'm not gonna let him have a pass this afternoon. Need meat for the freezer and I can not see a doe on this property for some reason. I have seen 7 racked deer on the last two hunts. I passed them all yr last yr and that was the first year I didn't shoot one in about 15 yrs. Freezer is empty, and I need some Jerkey.

I had a spike last year at 15 yards. Would have been my first bow kill. I let him walk. He can't grow into that giant 8 if he doesn't get the chance.

I'd rather kill a doe for meat and I'd rather observe an immature buck doing what he does than shoot any immature buck. Does are too easy to kill and just watching a buck in the wild is fun.

After the hunt, I almost congratulate myself as I don't have to fool with dragging him out.

Let'm go. I've passed probably 30 bucks this year already including a couple 120 inch plus 8's. Let'm go or you'll never kill that 6.5 year old sway back bossbuck. If you ever get used to letting them walk, you really step your game up. Pick up that bow and take you a nanny. It's the same rush and your helping your hunting.
