Does anyone hunt the refuge in Eufaula? I've been a few times over the years with not much luck. I'm going down next weekend and was wondering if anyone had any info or tips for this time of year.

It's thick and hard to hunt. I prefer the WMA in Barbour.

I love the refuge in Eufaula, usually kill a couple does, and last year was lucky enough to kill my biggest buck with a bow there. I don't consider myself a GREAT hunter, but by scouting and staying away from the crowds you should have some luck. I see deer there almost every time I hunt. If you want some help or a spot or two....Shoot me a PM. You might not see a deer but I can prolly point you in a direction where you will see a deer.

I was looking on the AON Rut Map and the refuge is within the area where the rut occurs late Nov early Dec. Can anybody here confirm this (or not)?

Thanksgiving week is usually when I've seen them chasing on the refuge.
