First, I'd like to say I am so glad I stumbled on this site. You guys all have great things to share and I hope I can give valuable insight sometime.

This is my first year hunting in Alabama.(Barbour County near Clayton.) Anyway, I am heading up at the end of this week to hunt the last two full weeks of the season. So far I've got a doe, my wife got a doe, and my dad got a nice 7 pt. Everyone says the rut turns on the last two weeks (into Feb) so I am excited to see some bucks chasing.

Welcome to the site. Got a few friends here in Tampa that hunt around Clayton;any hunt over that way some the last week as that's normally when the rut is going on over that way. Good luck to getting a buck this year. Sounds like you already got the freezer stocked

Thanks everyone. No black panthers, don't hunt with dogs, and never turn down a good bowl of popcorn. BTW - I do live just North of Tampa.

Good luck the rest of the season everyone.

Never. I do only shoot quality bucks. If I need meat I can shoot a doe. I'm not on Poor-House rd, but hunting is trying to put me in the poor house.
