We have had the very minimal and basic club rules over the last 6 or so years and things have been great but we picked up more land which in turn added more members. We have over 3000 and will have 15 members for next year. What are some beneficial rules that are in place at your lease. Here are a few we are going to start next year

No does after Jan 1 (Been in place since first season of lease)
Limit scouting to preseason as much as possible
No does killed on plots or fields
No driving through or walking through plots other than to recover game
Mandatory work days must be attended or pay fine.

And of course we have the normal state laws rules, buck size and limits, etc.

Any other rules that y'all have that could be benifical?

No passing another man on his stand after 3 pm.

No guests during the rut.

Same guest not over 3 times
Members choose stands before guest

Yeah forgot the guest rule. Those are already in place. Thanks guys. Keep brining them.

Better make it a rule of no riding around club. You sign out 2 sections a day to keep stomping up club down.

No playing loud boom boxes and no sagging of the pants!

Membership based on Per Gun. We are starting to deal with this now and it is a big issue. Family friendly has turned out to be a greed issue and we have members killing over 10 bucks on one membership. Make sure the membership slot is filled with one gun. If you are going to be family friendly have a separate fee added on to the membership fee or you will have people all over the place hunting on one membership slot.

No monthly dues! All members pay at one set date. We allow monthly dues to be paid and when members get out, they leave owing for three months and get out the last day of season. This sucks, but it at least weeds out the "Riff Raff".

As stated above. Deer harvest should count toward each paying membership. On our club we have a 2 doe per member limit. This number can change based on what we are seeing. However if I bring a guest and they kill a doe then it counts toward my 2. Ok, we don't have a buck limit; it's just follow the 3 allowed by the state. We do have requirements but not a club limit. If I bring a guest and he kills a buck....I can still kill my 3. I think it should be set just like the does. It would keep that family stuff from happening as stated above. This is just my opinion and I am all about taking guest and family. I'm also ok with paying an extra membership if need be to satisfy my personal needs. We do everything by discussion and vote. Everyone has a chance to speak their mind and we vote and majority wins. This places a lot more emphasis on getting the right people instead of having all the right rules. Rules can change as along as you have the right group of people making them.

3 bucks per membership

All cameras are to be removed by Jan 3. If you have cameras out during the season, you are only allowed to check them if you plan to hunt that specific area.

Also, to keep pressure down, consider limiting members to 4 days hunting per week. It helps, trust me.

Only immediate family members are allowed to hunt first and last two weeks of the season. Two stands per hunt.

I would like to get this into my club. We allow guest(intended for kids) that have never killed a deer to shoot a buck of their choice. So half the club feels it is necessary to bring guest and claim "they have never killed a deer". This buck limit per membership would put a halt to some of those false claims.

This is what we do where I hunt and in my opinion is the best rule you can have at a club. Limiting number of does and bucks per membership solves a lot of issues with one rule.

Here is the preface to our rules:
It is expected that common sense and common courtesy be used in all cases. In situations where a rule does not cover that situation, use this question to determine your behavior - “will it hurt the club, the hunting, or inconvenience any other member?”. If it will, in anyway, negatively impact any of the above, DO NOT do it. Show courtesy and respect to other members above all else.
We want to shoot deer, and we want to have fun. But we want to shoot the right deer and not have fun at the expense of all other members.
There is a lot of work and money that goes into the club - one member will not ruin all of this work for the other members.

Yeah we do 3 bucks and 4 does per membership. We never really have more than 12-15 does killed. Most guys don't fool with them.

No guest and no nonpaying members.

Now that would be strict to strict. Members would have to have no family or friends. But you would need a lot less rules. Lol
